FACTS about Giraffes

Although giraffes are usually silent, they can make sounds. They are able to moo, hiss and whistle.
A giraffe’s heart is 2′ long and weights nearly 20 lbs.
Giraffes are fond of acacia leaves, but the trees can fight back. They produce a sweet sap that attracts ants who build nests in the tree. When the giraffe browses on the tree the ants attack – biting hard and driving the giraffe away with nothing more than a few mouthfuls.
